The Name

Good evening, charge your glass and welcome to )'(oOliGan Alley. Home to excellent cocktails, silly music, ridiculous people and a shetland pony that we owe our name to. The camp history starts in many places, but the most rational starting point belongs with Megachoc in 2009. Megachoc, known from numerous encounters in the years of our youth was leading a group out to burning man in '09. Fede...more

Moop

As an Ooligan eventually you are going to get caught out and end up on community service picking up rubbish. The Burning Man ethos is "leave no trace" and i'm all for that otherwise the rozzers might find out what you did. As you can see from the MOOP (Burning man speak for rubbish) map above the ooligans managed to get a mostly MOOP free status, however there is a little bit of yellow creeping...more

Ooligan Sanitation

You might be an Ooligan but you still need to wash! This year we are going to supply 4 solar showers, the showers are going to built from wood and will stand in a large evaporation pond, there by using the power of the sun to rid us of all that moopy grey water. Well some of you might be asking if the sun is going to be enough to evaporate all of that water......no? well you should be! Well...more

Bikes

Once you have acquired a bike you need to pimp it and light it up, no one likes...more

The Weather

Weather on the playa is often violent and unpredictable. Dust storms, high winds, freezing temperatures, rain -- Burning Man has seen each of these at various times. Make sure you have plenty of warm clothing: in 1999, longtime participants were caught off-guard by the bone-chilling cold, and spent several nights freezing their tails off. It's impossible to be overly prepared when it comes to the...more

Burning Man Satellite Photo

Have a look at this mega bosh satellite photo from Burning Man 2010 (full image attached below the break). You can clearly see our camp between 9:00 - 9:30 and D - E. After much disappointment that the 2009 satellite image kicking around the interwebs was of much higher resolution than the 2010 image today I found out that the nerds at Google are one step ahead. If you would like to see the 2010...more
